It is a pleasure to write you this letter as your newly appointed pastor, beginning July 15th. My husband, Nick, my step daughter, Cecilia, (age 11) and foster daughter, A’laya, (age 9) look forward to joining the Hicksville and Edgerton communities. We are really looking forward to getting to know each of you and hope that once we get settled into the parsonage we will have the opportunity to have everyone over for dinner.
In my professional life I have been devoted to helping the homeless and those in need as a Housing Specialist for the HUD Section 8 voucher program. I am currently on the board of the Williams County Sanctuary Homeless Shelter, the Economic Stability board, and Pillars of Success transitional housing board. After spending several years as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer where we are the voice in court for children with troubled home circumstances I knew that God was calling us to be foster parents.
I was previously serving as a half time pastor at St. Paul and Sharon UMC in Napoleon and living in Bryan and am almost moved into the parsonage in Hicksville. I am a certified Evangelist through the UMC Be a Disciple program. I started preaching in a nursing home in the dementia wing. Bringing communion to those who are shut ins and visiting those who are sick is an important part of my ministry. I am also very passionate about children’s ministry, fresh expressions, connecting with the community, mission and outreach, powerful prayer, and am not afraid to dream big when it comes to serving God.
I feel truly blessed that I get to be your new pastor. I can’t wait to get started and get to know all of you. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I want you to know that I am here for ALL of you!
Blessings!
